Berry Bros. & Rudd becomes WSET 'Silver Corporate Patron'

Published:  23 March, 2017

Berry Bros. & Rudd has joined the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) as a Silver Corporate Patron

Berry Bros. & Rudd has joined the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) as a Silver Corporate Patron.

The partnership follows Berry Bros. & Rudd having worked with WSET as an Approved Programme Provider for 15 years, offering WSET education to staff and consumers.

Through the family-owned wine and spirits merchant's London flagship and further offices in China and Singapore, the partnership would work at a global level, said WSET, adding it was "thrilled" to welcome one of Britain's oldest wine merchants as a Silver partner.

"The business has provided great support offering our qualifications to aspiring professionals and enthusiasts over the years, and this new partnership will enable our businesses to unite in the mission to innovate and educate in the dynamic world of wine and spirits," said chief executive Ian Harris.

The Corporate Patrons programme was set up to ensure that WSET receives essential funding to allow it to continue to develop its courses and qualifications, as well as maintain and advance its online global campus and professional membership body for graduates, with the partnerships helping organisations add value to their own business by maximising the benefits of training and joining WSET's global network of professionals and enthusiasts.

Berry Bros. & Rudd, which takes the number of Silver Corporate Patron to 13, said it was "delighted" with its new position.

"Education has always been at the heart of Berry Bros. & Rudd and our Wine School gives hundreds of students the opportunity to study for the WSET exams each year," said chief executive and WSTA chairman Dan Jago.

With this in mind, as well as the on-going education and development of Berry Bros. & Rudd colleagues, it was entirely natural that the business were able to provide "this level of support" to WSET," he added.
