Jay-Z's Ace of Spades Champagne range releases two new labels

Published:  14 July, 2015

Two new expressions of the cult Champagne brand owned by rap star Jay-Z have been released in the UK.

The launch of Armand de Brignac Demi Sec and Blanc de Noirs brings the range up to five.

Demi-Sec is a blend of all three Champagne grapes from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Cote des Blancs.

Blanc de Noirs is a 100% Pinot Noir made with grapes from Montagne de Reims, Chigny-les-Roses, Bouzy, Verzy and Verzenay.

Armand de Brignac - also known as Ace of Spades, because of its distinctive packaging - was launched in 2006 by Sovereign Brands of the US in partnership with the Champagne region's Cattier family. It was bought by Jay-Z last November.

UK distribution is mainly through high-end nightspots and luxury department stores and wine shops.

The Champagne is still made by Cattier.

Armand de Brignac chief executive officer Sebastien Besson said: "We have always given our winemakers carte blanche to create the very best Champagnes possible, with no restrictions on time, money or resource."

The Champagnes are distributed by Cellar Trends in the UK.
