Visitors from the UK, and especially from within the M25, make up the bulk of visitors to Vinopolis, according to figures released by the company on the eve of its first anniversary.

The figures show that 67% of visitors to the "City of Wine" are from the UK, with 50% of those coming from London and a further 31% coming from within the M25. Only 19% of UK visitors come from other parts of the country.

Of the 33% of visitors from outside the UK, Western Europe, with 31%, and America and Canada, with 30%, are best represented, although Scandinavia with 13% and Japan with 3%, also feature in the statistics.

Details of the total number of visitors to Vinopolis over its first year are expected in the next few days.
