Johnny Depp ships his French wine to states

Read more about

Johnny Depp missed drinking his own French wine so much on a recent film shoot that he had a batch shipped over.

The Hollywood star, who owns a vineyard in Plan de Tour with his French wife Vanessa Paradis, had ten crates of the wine transported to the set of his new movie 'Public Enemies' in Illinois, reports the Daily Express.

A close source to the star told the newspaper: “He's really enjoying filming but the only problem is that Illinois isn't exactly famous for its vineyards and Johnny is quite particular about his wine.

“He knows a lot about wine and has been on various courses. When he couldn't put up with the local wine any longer, he decided to organise for a shipment of his own to be sent across as well as his favourite Bordeaux Petrus.”

Depp, 44, and Paradis, 35 grow their own grapes and have wine making facilities in their vineyard just north of St Tropez.

Too bad that Depp didn't try to find some Illinois wine. There are 73+ wineries throughout the state...close to 10 of those are within an hour or so from Chicago... Of course none of those sells wine with a Petrus price tag!
