Wine pair undertake charity ride

Read more about

Wine merchant Henry Butler and friend Andy Martin have begun a 1600 kilometre bike ride to heighten the profile of English wine and raise money for a Sussex children's hospice.

Mad Dogs

The pair, who set off on April 25 from the English Wine Centre at Alfriston, will cycle for 19 days through France and Italy ending up in Barbaresco.

There is a daily blog following their endeavours at the website Mad Dogs and English Wine.

En route they are carrying out head-to-head tasting challenges between English wines and those from their hosts who include Champagne Jacquesson, Dom. Ostertag, Boisset, Bret Brothers and Cantine Ascheri.
Those in the trade can donate through a link on the website or by clicking here.
