Morrisons implements Task 25 Scheme

Tuesday, 03 June 2008
Morrisons has implemented a ?Task 25? Scheme in a bid to prevent underage sales of alcohol.

The supermarket chain will now request proof of age from any customer who looks 25 or under.

This approach follows on from the company's policy of asking for proof of age from any customer who does not look over 21, which has been implemented in its 375 stores since 2005.

Grant Eastwood, Morrisons licensed trades director, said: "We take our responsibilities seriously and aim to do all we can to help prevent underage sales of alcohol.

"No-one wants to see under-18s buying alcohol and, although no policy is absolutely guaranteed, we are confident that Task 25 will act as an even greater deterrent."

Are consumers so confused in the wine aisles that they need Sainsbury’s colour-coded labels to denote flavour?
