AWC launches cellar curation service and displays wine box made from Versailles tree

AWC Fine Wines has launched a cellar curation service for clients.

The service is being launched by the fine wine specialist at an upmarket art, antique and design fair in London where the company is also showing a set of four top-rated Bordeaux and Burgundy wines in a cask made from Marie Antoinette's favourite tree.

The cask is among the exhibits at the Masterpiece London fair at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea until July 1.

The wood for the box came from an oak in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles, said to have been a favourite of Maire Antoinette, but which was felled in 2005 after falling victim to a drought.

It was created by craftsmen at Cordier Mestrezat in Bordeuax and contains Petrus, Latour, d'Yquem and La Tache wines from the 1990 vintage, the year AWC was founded.

AWC is also using the fair to promote the new cellar curation service and its Legacy Series of large format bottles.

The curation service includes design, installation, wine selection, investment advice and a personal wine advisor to manage client collections.

AWC is the only fine wine exhibitor at the fair alongside galleries and luxury good producers.

Previous attendees have included Sarah Jessica Parker, Elton John and Prince Harry.
