Beefeater Gin is launching a limited edition gin in celebration of next month's opening of Beefeater London: The Home of Gin, which will be the first dedicated gin distillery visitor centre in London.
The limited edition gin, called London Garden Gin, was created by Master Distiller, Desmond Payne. The gin was inspired by the famous Chelsea Physic Gardens, which were located around the corner from the original Beefeater Chelsea distillery. The limited edition gin will be sold exclusively at the visitors centre retailing for £22.50.
Beefeater London Garden Gin combines the herbs, lemon verbena and thyme with the traditional botanical and citrus elements of Beefeater Gin.
The visitors centre, which is set to open on May 22, was a concept that was approved and renovated in 2013 and is on the site of the Beefeater Distillery in Kennington, where the gin is still produced using the same recipe since the 1800s. Beefeater moved from its original location in order to expand, first to Lambeth and then to Kennington in 1958.
A self-guided tour will take visitors through the history of gin in London and cover how James Burrough created the iconic brand.

There will be access to interactive exhibits and additional information, through the use of iPads which will be available to hire. A tour guide will also take visitors through the distillery to explain the gin production process. Visitors will have the opportunity to see, touch and smell the botanicals that are used in making the spirit and of course enjoy a Gin and Tonic.
