Free Run Wines to take on low alcohol wines from New Zealand producer, Selaks Wines

Published:  15 May, 2014

Free Run Wines, the UK off-trade wine supplier, is to distribute a new low alcohol, 9% abv, wine from New Zealand producer, Selaks Wines, which will be introduced along with the rest of the winery's UK range to the trade at next month's London Wine Fair.

Selaks has been producing wines across New Zeland's main wine growing areas since 1934 and hopes to build its presence in the coming months through Free Run Wines. Its 9% abv, Breeze range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc varieties. Selaks Premium Selection and Reseve wines will also be available in the UK including Central Otago Pinot Noir, Hawkes Bay Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon, and Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Charles Elms, director of Free Run Wines, said of its new partnership: "We have an established reputation for supplying quality New Zealand wines to the off-trade, and we're certain that Selaks will be an excellent partner. Their consistent and approachable wines have a lot to offer the UK market, and their naturally lower in alcohol '9% Breeze' range taps in to a growing consumer group of health conscious wine drinkers."

Nina Stojnic, Selaks marketing director, added: "This is a range of wines that offers something for everyone, particularly now that there is a lighter wine choice that is big on flavour. Selaks was one of the brands at the ground-breaking New Zealand House London tasting in the early 1980s, just when we were making our first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It's great to be making a fresh start in 2014 at the London Wine Fair with Free Run Wines."

You can see the range on Free Run Wines T65 stand at LWF.
