Sourz Raspberry achieves record sales, says Maxiumm

Published:  16 November, 2011

The newest flavour variant in the Sourz portfolio, Sourz Raspberry has recorded sales at 75% ahead of expectations, according to brand owner Maxxium.

Maxxium says since its summer launch, it has become the second most popular Sourz flavour behind Sourz Apple and the fastest off-trade sales and a higher weekly rate of sale than other competitors in the sector including Jagermeister, Archers or Malibu (AC Nielsen).

It also claims its success has been replicated in the on-trade where Raspberry has helped push the total Sourz rate of sale to match that of all three key competitors combined. (AC Nielsen).

Eileen Livingston, Sourz UK marketing controller, says: "Sourz Raspberry represents the brand's biggest and best product launch yet, and signals our ongoing commitment to continually develop and deliver exciting - and hugely popular - new flavours to market.

"Innovation continues to be at the heart of the Sourz brand and with the launch of Sourz Raspberry we invested more than ever before to ensure the best chance of success in the market.

"The take up rate amongst both on and off-trade customers in such a short space of time has been exceptionally strong, and has undoubtedly helped make Sourz Raspberry an immediate hit with consumers across the UK."

Launched on  June 1, Sourz Raspberry received a comprehensive advertising support package worth over £1.8 million.
