APP Wine Law launches producer's legal guide

Published:  30 March, 2012

Specialist law firm, APP Wine Law, has launched a free guide to help producers understand the risks involved when taking on UK agents or distributors.

Producers will be able to decide whether a written agreement is necessary, by working through the guide.

Solicitor and owner of APP Law, Andrew Park, says: 'Every producer in this situation needs to know what his position will be if there isn't a written agreement, and how he could improve his position by having one.

"We have advised many, many times over the years in relation to the problems and disputes between producers and importers."

Park adds the producer will have a much better chance of avoiding future difficulties if he puts contractual safeguards in place at the outset.

"Our guide is intended to help producers navigate through what can be a very complex area, legally, and make sure they get themselves properly protected."

This latest offering is designed to complement its recently launched, Wine Importers Contract Package and aims to addresses the differing needs and concerns on both sides of the producer-importer relationship.
