Published:  20 April, 2012

Micro-négociant, Mischief and Mayhem, has bought its first domaine in Aloxe-Corton.

Mischief and Mayhem was founded in January 2005 by Michael and Fiona Ragg as a progressive, modern micro-négociant committed to producing quality artisanal Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines from across the Côte d'Or.

Michael Ragg, managing director said it highlights a "beginning of a new chapter".

"This is a new departure for Mischief and Mayhem but our central focus on quality atevery stage of the winemaking process remains unchanged."

"The new creation of a domaine side to the business is a development that brings increased opportunities and responsibilities for our company, and we are looking forward to bringing our first domaine wine to the marketplace," he said.

The one acre parcel of village Aloxe-Corton Les Caillettes Pinot Noir vines is 30 years old and sited in limestone soils, rich in iron.

It will be farmed sustainablywith organic treatments and a focus on low yields and optimum fruit quality.

The first vintage release will be 2012 and it is hoped that further additions to the domaine portfolio will be made in due course.
