Stefano Chioccioli appointed winemaker for the Wine People portfolio

Italian wine consultant Stefano Chioccioli has been appointed winemaker for the Wine People portfolio.

The Wine People is headed up by Stefano Girelli and has a portfolio of wines from all over Italy.

Girelli has worked with Chioccioli for the past two decades, with Chioccioli overseeing the winemaking of the Girelli estate wines, notably Feudo di Santa Tresa in Sicily and Villa Cafaggio in Chianti Classico.

Chioccioli's clients include some of the top names in Italian wine, giving him broad and varied experience. He has also made wines in France and Hungary, and received many awards and 100-point wine scores from Robert Parker.

He is known for his skills in respecting the provenance and style of each wine, while creating the best possible quality.

He said: "I have made the decision to work on all of Stefano Girelli's wines in his new venture.

"This is a cutting-edge, innovative company, which I am very happy to be involved with, and welcome the challenge of ensuring each wine in the portfolio is made to the best quality and is an excellent example of its type."
