Codorníu, has added two new wines to its range Codorníu Brut and Codorníu Rosado Brut which are set to become the brand's flagship wines.

Both have been created to reflect the style of the very first traditional method which aims to highlight Codorníu's heritage and winemaking expertise. Codorníu Brut - D.O. Cava - Macabeo, Xarel·lo, Parellada (rrp £8.99, Tesco) is a true reflection of the first cava created by Codorníu in 1872 with the original blend of the traditional Cava grapes - Macabeo, Xarel·lo, Parellada. The wine is aged for nine months and a flavoursome example of cava at its best. Bright in the glass with a good mousse, it has aromas of cherry and marzipan which follow through to a palate of citrus, apple, almond, savoury brioche and complimentary hints of cherry. The Codorníu Rosado Brut - D.O. Cava - Monastrell, Garnacha ( rrp £8.99, Tesco Wines by the Case) is more subtle and made from local Spanish grapes; Monastrell, Granacha, Trepat. Fruit salad flavours are met hints of brioche from its ageing on the lees and a refreshingly creamy finish.
