Join us and Champagne Bureau's Françoise Peretti for Global Champagne Day Tweet up

Harpers is kicking off celebrations for this weekend's Global Champagne Day on October 28 by hosting a live tweet up with the Champagne Information Bureau's director Françoise Peretti on Friday afternoon.

You can post up any questions you may have about Champagne to Peretti from 2pm through the Harpers Twitter feed, @Harperswine and the Champagne Bureau's @Champagne_UK.

To make sure we can track all the questions being asked use the hashtags #Champagneday and #Champagneday12.

Peretti will do her best to answer whatever Champagne query you may have be it on a particular Champagne style or how best to celebrate what will be the third year there has been a day dedicated to celebrating Champagne.

The celebrations start in earnest across the world on Friday October 26 with tastings and events taking place from as far as Brisbane to the Bahamas.

It will all culminate in a live global Twitter celebration, dubbed the Global Champagne Jam, where anyone in the world can take part from 1.30pm GMT on the special hashtag #GCJ12 or the two main hashtags #ChampagneDay and #Champagne12.

It will be co-ordinated by one of the Global Champagne Day's co-founders Jayne Powell, aka Champagne Jayne, and the current Hapers Champagne Educator of the Year. She will be hosting her own series of pop up tastings across London this weekend starting at the Sanderson hotel in Soho on Friday, October 26, Harvey Nichols on October 27 and at the Danes Yard Kitchen on Sunday, October 28. Here she will be hosting a Global Champagne Jam Brunch.
