Nomacorc celebrates 100 millionth Select Series sale

Synthetic wine closure producer Nomacorc has announced the production and shipment of its 100 millionth Select Series closure after introducing it to the market in 2011.

Tailored to meet the unique needs of artisan winemakers and their premium wines, the Select Series was introduced in 2011 with the Select 70 and the complete Select Series portfolio was launched in January 2012.

Based on the results of Nomacorc's oxygen management research and experience working with winemakers around the world, the Select Series offers four product options, each consisting of different oxygen ingress rates, which are designed to provide optimum wine preservation and development.

Premium VDP winery Robert König from the Rheingau region in Germany bottled its Frankenthal Spätlese 2011 with Nomacorc's 100 millionth Select Series closure.

Nomacorc produces nearly 2.4 billion closures annually and represents roughly 13% of the still wine closures market.
