Banrock Station launches Vote for Nature campaign

Accolade Wine is to donate £100,000 to the National Trust as part of a tie-up with the conservation charity and its Banrock Station brand.

The Banrock Station Vote for Nature campaign will ask consumers to vote for their favourite of five National Trust projects which support animal species under threat in the UK - the red squirrel, pine marten, otter, puffin and bat. The project with the most votes will receive the largest share of the £100,000 funding.

The vote will be held on a dedicated Banrock Station Facebook page which will launch this week and be supported by a dedicated microsite on The Guardian website and activity in print in The Guardian and The Observer.

In store, one million bottles of Banrock Station Shiraz Mataro and Colombard Chardonnay are rolling out with neck tags to promote the campaign. The tags also give consumers a code to enter a competition to win a National Trust cottage break or a pass to a National Trust site.

The initiative is part of the brand's long-term association with environmental projects, having contributed £2.5 million to 98 environmental projects in 13 countries since 1994.
