As its annual trade and press tasting approaches, English Wine Producers has announced the addition of two new members - Henners and Bluebell, both in East Sussex.

The tasting will take place on May 9 at One Great George Street, London SW1, and will see all English wine-producing regions represented, from established producers to those new to the wine scene.

Henners will be showing its recently launched Vintage Reserve 2009 (70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir) and Brut Rosé 2010 (56% Pinot Noir, 44% Pinot Meunier).

With English sparkling wine growing in popularity as consumers look for alternatives to Champagne, reports show the category is more buoyant than ever following 2012's Jubilee and Olympic celebrations.

New releases of both still and sparkling wines will be on taste from Ridgeview, Nyetimber and Bolney Estate in Sussex; Kent's Chapel Down, Hush Heath and Biddenden; Denbies Estate in Surrey; and Hampshire's Jenkyn Place and Danebury Vineyards.

Cornwall's Camel Valley Vineyard will show the first vintage of its sparkling Chardonnay, while Kent's Gusbourne Estate will be exhibiting its new barrel-fermented, unchaptalised, still Chardonnay.

English Wine Producers will also officially launch English Wine Week (May 25 - June 2) at the tasting.

The event is invitation only, so visit englishwineproducers.com to register.
