Vin-X signs former Essex cricketer

Vin-X has been targeting sports associations as a potential avenue to reach broader audiences and grow its investment portfolio. Earlier this year it signed an partnership to offer fine wine investment advice to Birmingham City Football Club and it hopes Prichard's sporting background will help it bring in new business.

"Not only does he have excellent contacts in business, media and sport, he also has great strategic thinking which we aim to harness to build upon our position as the UK's fastest growing wine investment firm," said Peter Shakeshaft, chairman of Vin-X.

Prichard, a former batsman spent 17 years with the county, three of which were as captain, before retiring in 2001 to join the Professional Cricketers' Association.
