Whisky fans invited to name Glenmorangie limited-edition single malt release

Published:  09 August, 2013

Glenmorangie is putting together its first crowd-sourced whisky project which has allowed fans to participate in the decision making process of its next limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky from the style of whisky bottled through to actually naming the release.

The whisky, which was selected by a public vote between three different casks earlier this year, was matured in manzanilla sherry casks.  Glenmorangie is now calling on the public once more to submit names online all through August, which will then be translated into Gaelic, put to a vote and a winning name announced in September.

Dr Bill Lumsden, director of distilling at Glenmorangie, said: "We're creating history at Glenmorangie by giving fans the chance to decide the name of our next limited-edition single malt whisky."

The whisky will be bottled and later sold in autumn 2014.
