Oddbins to reward inspirational teachers

Published:  15 August, 2013

On the day thousands of students receive their A-level results, Oddbins thinks it is time to reward the inspirational teachers who taught them, by asking customers to nominate 10 they think deserve a case of wine for their hard work.

It is asking customers to vote for the teacher they felt most inspired them during their time at school, college or university.

To take part customers simply have to put the name of the teacher and where they teach, when they attended that school or college and give a brief explanation why they found them to be so inspirational in an email to inspire@oddbins.com.

Oddbins will publish the best entries it receives on its blog and then pick out the 10 most deserving teachers and send them each a case of wine.

Oddbins said: "Teachers are still inspiring students and those inspired students are going on to achieve things that we could never dream of. Teachers are a critical part of our society, they are the buttress that holds us up, even though they seem to have become more of a scapegoat-shaped piñata for politicians of every hue.

"We may not have liked all our teachers, but we haven't forgotten how they inspired us and moulded our lives. So Oddbins would like to say 'THANK YOU TEACHERS...'"
