Abbotts & Delaunay appoints new oenologist

Published:  25 September, 2013

Languedoc-Roussillon specialists Abbotts & Delaunay have appointed a new agronomist and oenologist, Hilde Chevillot, to replace winemaker Vincent Charleux.

Chevillot is to be based at the winery in Marseillette, near Carcassonne, and will manage all of Abbotts & Delaunay's grower partnerships. She will also oversee the winemaking process, from vinification to bottling, working closely with oenologist and owner of Abbotts & Delaunay, Laurent Delaunay.

In 2008 Chevillot joined Baron Philippe de Rothschild, in charge of managing the vineyards and the winemaking for the co-op and producer partners as well as contributing to the blending of some of their brands.

Laurent Delaunay said: "We are very pleased to welcome Hilde to the Abbotts & Delaunay team. With the wide experience in winemaking both in France and internationally that she will be bringing, we know that she will not only maintain but enhance the very high standards that have already been created at Abbotts & Delaunay, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the region's premium winemakers."
