Taylor's Port renews sponsorship deal with Jazz FM

Published:  23 October, 2013

Taylor's Port returned yesterday as the headline sponsor to Jazz FM's Dinner Jazz programme for 26 weeks after its successful run last year.

Presented by Helen Mayhew and Sarah Ward (DAB Digital Radio, Sky 0202, Freesat 729 or mobile app) the programme will air on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7pm.

This year's line-up includes: Decadent Desserts on Tuesdays, which will feature "sensational puds" presented by leading chefs and matched with Taylor's; Tasting Thursdays with Taylor's, with managing director Adrian Bridge, who will open a different bottle of Port each week; and Quirky Facts on Saturdays, which explores the traditions and historical oddities of the world of wine.

Executive chef Andy Rhodes, from the Boisdale Group (London), kicks off the first Decadent Dessert evening featuring a hot Granada chocolate fondant and vanilla ice cream matched with Taylor's Late Bottled Vintage; and John Williams, executive chef at the Ritz London, will appear the following Tuesday, with chocolate ganache with a Florentine base served with raspberries and Taylor's Vargellas 2001 Vintage Port.

In the new series of Tasting Thursdays, the Port to be opened by Adrian Bridge will be featured ahead of the show on jazzfm.com/microsite/taylors-port. Listeners will be able to learn about the featured Port and taste alongside Bridge on the programme. The website will also include a competition to win a mixed case of Port which will run for six weeks in the run-up to Christmas.

Bridge said: "Taylor's Port returns as the headline sponsor of Dinner Jazz following a very successful first series which we ran for 26 weeks last year. The synergy of Port with jazz is a natural one and offers a timely prompt to listeners ahead of the evening meal. We hope jazz lovers will be inspired by the delicious dessert pairings we have lined up in the current series and, in turn, encourage the consumption of Taylor's Port beyond the cheeseboard."
