Sipsmith expands distillery to west London

Published:  17 April, 2014

Gin distillery Sipsmith is expanding from its original base in Hammersmith to a larger facility in Chiswick, west London.

The distillery, the first to launch in London for nearly 200 years, needed extra space to accommodate another copper pot still. Sipsmith, which names its stills, already has Prudence and Patience, and the new addition will be known as Constance.

"We are delighted to be moving to a new site and thrilled to remain in west London, the birthplace of Sipsmith. There's nothing we enjoy more than meeting like-minded discerning and interested drinkers and very much look forward to opening our doors to distillery tours so that we can show off our new space and latest addition to the Sipsmith family," said Sam Glasworthy, a co-founder of Sipsmith.

Sipsmith started in 2008 has since gone on to win several international awards and is recognised for its small batch gins that focus on quality.

Currently there are six different gins in their portfolio including London Dry Gin, V.J.O.P., Barley Vodka, Sloe Gin Damson Vodka, and Summer Cup.

Sipsmith will continue to offer tours of the distillery to the public once settled in its new home. It will open its doors at its new location to visitors in late June 2014.
