How was 2014 for you / your business?

I have to say, pretty good.  We are expanding our presence in the UK and the string of accolades and awards, including being noted as the UK's most listed NZ wine producer in the on-trade for 2014 (Wine Business Solutions). That was a great boost.

What do you think were the most significant things that happened / issues / trends that occurred in 2014?

The most significant thing to happen in 2014 for me was Kim Kardashian breaking the internet.  She has got quite a big booty so she had every chance of success.

What opportunities are you most looking forward to working on in 2015?

Building our sales across the UK, furthering the regional story for NZ and starting my Mountain Leader training.

What are the biggest challenges facing the trade in 2015?

I think challenges are better seen as opportunities, so therefore I'll say to focus on provenance and aim towards selling better wine.

Who are the people / companies / retailers to watch in 2015?

Noble Inns operate under the radar but have some very successful pubs with dining rooms and their new concept 'Bad Egg' looks set to take them in a new direction. Their new Smokehouse in Chiswick sets them up to be the one to watch this coming year.  I think the craft beer scene is also set to increase its standing.

What are you doing for Christmas and New Year?

Hanging out in Bath with my family.

What will be your favourite tipple over Christmas and New Year?

Americanos with Antica Formula.

Favourite Christmas film?

Cling - a signal that it's all over, at least until supper time.

Ideal day out over Christmas period?

Dropping the family off at the station.

What do you want most from Father Christmas?

Mrs Christmas.  I hear she's a cracker.  Boom boom!

New Year's resolution?

Take more risks.
