Daffy's Gin is the latest new launch in to an already bursting category, but claims it uses a unique set of botanicals, including Lebanese mint, to make its own mark.

The London style gin has been created by former winemaker and whisky distiller, Chris Molyneaux, who says he has found a "unique and rare botanicals not used by any other gins" on the market. These combined with London Dry botanicals and then distilled through an ancient copper pot whisky still, using pure Scottish water, gives the gin its distinct characteristics.

Molyneaux said he is using the same distillation processes as he would for malt whisky which means the finished gin works just as well with a mixer as it does straight over ice.

He added: "We are amazingly happy with what we have managed to achieve in creating the very finest and most balanced of gins. We have used innovative malt whisky techniques and meticulously sourced botanicals to discover a new world of complexity and finesse. Daffy's is a gin like no other and the industry and consumer feedback we have had so far has been overwhelming. The world awaits!"

Produced in Edinburgh the gin has been targeted at key bars and locations in the city as well as Glasgow, Belfast and London to build word of mouth. It is now available to buy online at daffysgin.com.

Scoot Gibson, from Panda & Sons in Edinburgh is one of the first bars to take it on. He said: "There are a lot of new small batch gins popping up all over the country - but this one definitely stands out in the crowd. This crisp fresh gin has inspired some of the team to create a unique cocktail for the upcoming new menu."

The 'Daffy' illustration on the bottle, dubbed the Goddess of Gin, has been designed by Robert McGinnis, the artist behind the Breakfast at Tiffany, James Bond and Barberella posters.

Daffy's Gin costs £34 per bottle and is available to buy direct from www.daffysgin.com
