Pernod Ricard UK celebrated its Ruby Anniversary as well as raised a glass to several key milestones over the last 40 years while also promoting it's "Responsib'all Day".

Pernod Ricard globally owns 19 of the world's top 100 brands and now represents 91m cases of spirits and 25m cases of wine.

Denis O'Flynn, managing director of Pernod Ricard UK said: "We are delighted to celebrate the heritage, evolution and innovation that have put Pernod Ricard at the leading edge of driving growth in the global premium drinks market."

The milestones that were celebrated throughout the evening included the acquisitions of Irish Distillers in 1988, including Jameson, to the company's portfolio of brands, becoming a shareholder in Seagram's Wine and Spirits business in 2001, the acquisition of Allied Domecq in 2005 and the acquisition of Vin & Spirits, owner of Absolut vodka. Pernod Ricard UK also was celebrating the success of the wine portfolio as having some of the biggest brands in the supermarket retail channel.

The company was celebrating responsibly particularly since today marks the fifth annual Responsib'All Day for the company.  The day is set to focus on the responsible distribution of alcoholic beverages.

Today the company will be distributing 500,000 leaflets promoting the principles of responsible drinking based on the guidelines issued by health authorities . The leaflets will be distributed directly to consumers through the involvement of retailers.

"Responsible distribution is the first step towards responsible drinking. It is why we want to support all our partners in the daily efforts to promote the responsible consumption of our products," said Alexandre Ricard, chairman and chief executive office of Pernod Ricard.
