Wong wins Wine Business degree accolades at Plumpton College

Some rising stars of the wine trade world have been honoured in the annual awards ceremony at Plumpton College.

Some rising stars of the wine trade world have been honoured in the annual awards ceremony at Plumpton College's Wine Centre.

Ciara Wong won the agricultural college's Wine Cup, sponsored by Hakkasan, for the top student at distinction level in the Wine Business foundation degree.

She also received the Liscio Glassware Trophy for the best individual blind taster on the course and the Sir David Orr Shield for top higher education student.

Wong described the course as "rewarding and challenging".

Ben Smith was awarded the Bibendum-sponsored Wine Bowl for the top student on the Wine Business BA, while the UKVA Wine Cooler for top student on the Wine Production foundation degree went to Chris Boiling. Chris Sherry won the award for top practical student in Wine Production.

The Michael Currivan Cup, sponsored by Vigo, for the Viticultre & Onenology BSc, was jointly won by Roger Fox & Inmaculada Ollero Bianchi.

Bianchi also received an award for the best project written by a higher education student.
