Published:  23 July, 2015

Japanese drinks giant Suntory has announced in Tokyo that it is to sell the Louis Royer Cognac brand to Terroirs Distillers.

Terroirs is a privately-owned spirits company based in France, which owns The Tullibardine and Highand Queen Scotch whisky brands.

The Louis Royer sale includes the Cognac brand, the ageing spirit inventory and production facilities in France.

It values the company at around €100 million.

Louis Royer Cognacs have been distributed in the UK through Mangrove since 2013.
