The Benevolent Northern Ball, which was held last Friday at The Mere Resort in Knutsford, Cheshire has raised over £21,000.

The guest speaker was former Decanter journalist Richard Neill, who spoke about how the charity had helped him and his family after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

The evening began with a Neon Cocktail bar, followed by a four-course gourmet meal.

After-dinner entertainment included a live band, face painting and a photo booth.
