Leading wine supplier Buckingham Schenk has secured a Morrisons listing for Señorio de Convey Priorat  from its Spanish producer Cellers Unió.

Señorio de Convey Priorat 2013 is a blend of 60% Mazuela and 40% Grenache.

It is made by winemaker Jordi Puxeu from old, low-yield vines and both varietals are fermented and aged separately before blending.

The increasingly highly regarded Priorat DOQ, noted for its stony and volcanic soil, is located in a small, mountainous area of Catalonia.

Cellers Unió, which was founded in 1942, represents some 90 co-operatives in Catalonia and around 20,000 families of growers.

Aside from Priorat, it also produces wines in the Montsant, Terra Alta, Tarragona, and Catalunya DOs.

Cellers Unió introduced its first organic wines in 2008 and is an active proponent of sustainable agriculture in the region.

Señorio de Convey Priorat will be available later this month with a retail price of £10.

Buckingham Schenk is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Europe's Schenk Group.

The Schenk Group first acquired 25% of the company from founder Cliff Roberson in 1994, and bought the remaining 75% in 2012.
