Halewood unveils new four-strong craft spirit range

Published:  31 March, 2016

Independent drinks manufacturer and distributor Halewood International is launching a new range of craft spirits to target younger millenniel drinkers thirsty for new flavour combinations and drink experiences.

The JJ Whitley range will feature two gins and two vodkas at launch, and will initially only be available through the on-trade.

The range is named after the Whitley family, which began creating fine spirits in Daresbury, Cheshire in 1762.

It is designed to complement other spirits in Halewood's current portfolio, including the highly regarded Whitley Neill Gin.

The two gins in the new range are London Dry Gin, flavoured with botanicals such as pepper, parma violets and citrus, and Elderflower Gin, the latter epitomising Halewood's aim for the range of evoking the subtle scents of the English countryside.

The Elderflower Gin is intended to be the perfect base for summer-themed cocktails.

The vodkas are a Potato Vodka and Rhubarb Vodka.

The JJ Whitley range comes in an elegantly shaped bottle, which is designed to stand out on the back bar.

Each spirit in the new range has an abv of 38.6%.

A Halewood International spokesperson said: "The JJ Whitley range was developed in response to increasing consumer demand for quality, versatile liquids which can be used as a base for a variety of drinks, including cocktails.

"The variety, quality and flavour combinations in the JJ Whitley range will also encourage consumers to trade up, and will allow operators to provide a greater and more curious range of drinks."
