Daffy's partners with F1 Manor Racing team for limited edition gin

Published:  20 May, 2016

Daffy's gin has partner with F1 Manor Racing team and is releasing its first limited edition bottling of just 2,500 bottles being produced.

Only 1,000 bottles will be available to the on-trade.

"This is Daffy's first ever limited edition and I'm incredibly proud of the result. We're thrilled to be working with Manor Racing this year and wanted to create an exciting, fresh gin that captured the spirit, energy and derring-do of Manor Racing and F1," said Chris Molyneaux, master distiller and co-founder of Daffy's gin.

Simon Pavitt, Manor Racing marketing director said: "Since launching the partnership at the start of the 2016 F1 season, Daffy's has had quite an impact at Manor Racing. The iconic logo looks great on the turning vanes of our race cars and we've had so much fun contributing to the limited edition bottle and cocktails."

The limited edition bottle has a different taste profile to that of the original Daffy's gin and uses a new recipe incorporating different botanicals.  The new botanicals include Lebanese mint leaves and fresh lime from southern Spain. The bottle also has a special design featuring the winner's laurel wreath and gold cup, with the team's racing colours.

"My personal goal was to push the boundaries of what people perceive as the traditional character of a London Dry Gin.  It's incredibly complex on the palette, but so balanced. I've had it described back to me as bit of game-changer. I can't wait to get it out there and hear what other professionals in the trade think," said Molyneaux.

The limited edition bottle will be available exclusively for the on-trade in the UK and Ireland, with a very small number of bottles available online for consumers to purchase. The Formula One racing season kicks off later this month in Monaco.
