Walker & Wodehouse plays up to royal connections for Queen's 90th birthday celebration

Published:  09 June, 2016

Walker & Wodehouse is teaming up with Primrose Bakery to throw a street party to mark the Queen's 90th.

The merchant and supplier, which is subsidiary of Bibendum PLB, is preparing to throw out the bunting for a street celebration outside Walker & Wodehouse's HQ on Regents Park Road in Primrose Hill tomorrow Friday, June 10.

They will be joining others celebrating around the UK this weekend to toast the beginning of the Queen's tenth decade.

Local residents and guests are being invited to try a selection of food and drinks from a Best of British theme, including English sparkling from Coates & Seely, wine from Sussex's Bolney Wine Estate, gin and tonics from the official Queen's birthday Gin, NB Gin, and Elizabeth IPA, a beer especially brewed to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.

Donations taken for cupcakes and drinks will go to children's charity, The Rainbow Trust.

Vivienne Muir, is the owner of NB Gin.

"To be selected as the only drinks brand in the only official commemorative album for the Queen's 90th is an honour and a very proud, emotional time for us as a company. It is indicative of the quality of our product that is enjoyed globally," she said.

Gareth Groves, managing director of Walker & Wodehouse added: "We are very proud of our Royal Warrant and our heritage. We have an excellent range of British products, so what better way to celebrate both our royal connections and our home grown portfolio than with a party for our neighbours and our staff to commemorate the Queen's 90th birthday?"

As of June 1, 2015, Walker & Wodehouse sells exclusively to the independent retail channel and wholesale trade.

The supplier has a long history of partnering with the monarchy, holding a royal warrant-holding since 1955.
