Bordeaux brings a touch of tradition to Cotswolds' The Big Feastival

Traditional French wine and festivals in the heart of the great British countryside haven't always gone hand in hand.

Traditional French wine and festivals in the heart of the great British countryside haven't always gone hand in hand.

But this August, Bordeaux Wines will be returning to The Big Featsival - the joint venture between Jamie Oliver and Blur-bassist turned cheese connoisseur Alex James based on James' Cotswolds farm.

The festival, now in its fifth year, will also feature The Wondering Wine Company which will be offering wine on tap from their vintage Citroen H-Vans, food and wine from Wines of Argentina and New Zealand winery Brancott Estate will be running a virtual reality wine tasting experience.

The VIP Lounge is also partnering with Champagne Laurent-Perrier, while Sip Smith and Fever Tree and Ketel One Vodka will be running cocktail masterclasses.

The Bordeaux wine bar will be offering a selection of dry white, rosé, red and sweet wines, with the option to purchase by the glass or by the carafe.

The bar will sell a range of wines from the new Everyday Bordeaux selection priced from £6 to £20.

Festival-goers can also play the "aroma game" - an immersive wine experience which showcases the different fruit, flower and spice aromas inherent to Bordeaux wines.

Bordeaux Wine experts Russell Dent and Lydia Harrison will be on hand to help identify preferred Bordeaux wine styles, from Bordeaux's classic crisp and fruity dry whites wine, to more oaky and structured reds.

Vins de Bordeaux works in junction with The Bordeaux Wine Council (C.I.V.B.) which was created by French Law in August 18, 1948 to unite winegrowers, merchants and traders in the Bordeaux wine industry.

The CIVB's objectives include positioning Bordeaux wines as the brand of reference, building knowledge and protecting the quality of Bordeaux.

The Big Feastival runs from August 26 to 28.
