Published:  22 February, 2017

Australia is to place the emphasis firmly on diversity at this year's ProWein.

Wine Australia's stand this year will feature over 500 wines from 76 wineries and 34 different micro-regions. Visitors to the stand will also be able to sample wines made from 39 different grape varieties.

Events scheduled include feature tastings, regional tastings, master classes, and a food and wine matching session led by sommelier and writer Christina Fischer. Topics covered at the events will include cool climate regions, Mediterranean varieties and old vines.

Laura Jewell MW, head of market EMEA for Wine Australia, said: "With more wineries exhibiting, a busy programme of events and renewed excitement for Australian wine, there are lots of reasons to visit Wine Australia at this year's ProWein.

"Join us on-stand or at an event to find out why it's such an exciting time for Australian wine and taste the diversity, which the country offers through a mix of varieties, terroirs, winemaking methods and styles."

Wineres exhibiting on-stand will include Alpha Box & Dice, Tyrrell's Wines, Yering Station and Voyager Estate.

ProWein 2017 will takes place in Düsseldorf between 19 and 21 March.
