Distell extends partnership with Stock Spirits to boost its UK spirits portfolio

Published:  21 March, 2017

South African alcohol producer Distell has extended its partnership with Stock Spirits to enhance its spirit range in the UK.

The extended distribution deal will see "a number" of brand additions to the Distell UK portfolio, including Amundsen Expedition Vodka, ?o??dkowa deLuxe crystal clear vodka, ?o??dkowa Gorzka, Lubelska, Stock XO brandy and limoncello brand Limoncè.

Taking effect from 1 June, the UK deal builds on wine, spirits and cider producer Distell's existing arrangement with Stock Spirits in Slovakia and Italy, and demonstrated Stock Spirit's confidence in Distell as a business and "our capability to support their brands and deliver future growth", said European Distell MD Fraser Thornton.

"Stock Spirits has an impressive range of brands which provides a strong complementary fit with our own portfolio that will allow us to widen our reach across categories and improve our ability to service the needs of the UK trade," he added.

Stock Spirits, a leading owner and producer of premium branded spirits and liqueurs principally sold in Central and Eastern Europe, said the UK was an "important market" for the business.

"The new agreement will help take our presence to the next level in the UK where we have a huge amount of ambition," said Michael Kennedy, MD of Stock Spirits international & Italy.

Over the past 12 months, Distell has demonstrated its commitment to the UK market through continued investment and expansion of its commercial team.

In October last year, the company announced it would as of January 9, 2017 bring distribution of its Savanna cider, Amarula cream liqueur and portfolio of South African wines in-house to sit alongside its Scotch Whiskies.

As a result, it exited long-standing third party distribution relationships with SHS, Cellar Trends and Brand Phoenix.
