This May will see the reutrn of The Real Wine Fair - the trade and consumer event which champions natural, organic and biodynamic wines.

Around 2,000 members of the trade are expected to attend this year's fair, which was co-founded by Les Caves de Pyrene's Doug Wregg in 2012.

Over 170 growers will be showcasing the artisan and hand-crafted wines from 17 different countries.

Fifty of these are making their Real Wine Fair debut.

As well as organic and biodynamic wines, this year there will also be a spotlight on 'extreme terroir', from vines grown on sand dunes to the foot-slopes of volcanoes.

Rare and unusual autochthonous grapes will also feature, along with a focus on Austria.

The event will shine a light on the quality-driven wines from this country which has become a firm favourite with sommeliers, culminating in a growers' masterclass on Monday 8.

In the run-up to the two-day event, The Real Wine Month will return to promote promotion of organic, biodynamic and natural wines nationwide.

Biodynamic wine-making uses anti-chemical farming techniques in tune with the environment and the rhythms of nature.

The Real Wine Fair comes to Tobacco Dock in Wapping, on May 7 and 8.
