LWF: Exton Park goes small with half-sized bottles

Published:  24 May, 2017

English sparkling wine producer Exton Park showcased its half-sized 37.5ml bottles of sparkling wines at this year's London Wine Fair (LWF).

Available now to the on and off-trade, the Brut Reserve (rsp: 17.50) and Blanc de Noirs NV (£18.95) had been introduced to tap the “regular habit” of drinking sparkling wine among UK consumers, said the Hampshire-based single estate winery, adding the duo had been designed to provide drinkers with a “more convenient” smaller size.

The smaller size would build on the success of the full-size bottles, introduced in 2015, of the crisp and refreshing Brut Reserve and the rounded, fruitier Blanc de Noirs NV, said head winemaker, Corinne Seely.

“The smaller size bottles will offer consumers the opportunity to enjoy a couple of glasses of a top ‘new wave’ English sparkler without breaking the bank,” she said, adding they were perfect for a summer aperitif or as an “after work pick me up”.

Exton Park, which is situated on the chalk slopes of Hampshire’s South Downs, claimed it was one of only “very few” English sparkling wine producers to sell this smaller size.
