Coates & Seely signs deal as Goodwood’s English fizz supplier

Published:  30 May, 2017

Coates & Seely has signed a deal as the exclusive English sparkling wine partner of Goodwood Racecourse.

The deal kicks off from the beginning of this season and, in addition to the fizz being served at events throughout the summer, includes Coates  & Seely being granted the naming rights of the Gordon pavilion, which will be known as the Coates & Seely Pavillion.

The appointment as an official English sparkling wine partner was a nod to the increasing consumer awareness and demand for English wine, said co-founder Nicholas Coates, adding the Coates & Seely brand was, with its emphasis on “quality and Englishness”, a “harmonious fit”.

Goodwood Racecourse said the local winery - it’s “just down the road” from the Hampshire-based racecourse, set itself apart with its “relentless pursuit of quality”.

“During a time when English sparkling wines are experiencing a huge surge in popularity, we know that our guests will enjoy being able to drink such beautiful, award-winning wines as part of their day," said general manager, Alex Eade.

The partnership follows Hallgarten signing up as official partner of The Goodwood Estate in March this year as its supplier of still and sparkling wine to the entire business, including Goodwood House, Goodwood Hotel, The Kennels, Hound Lodge, Goodwood Racecourse and Goodwood Motor Circuit.
