Twisted Halo looks to raise £450,000 on Seedrs

Published:  31 May, 2017

Alcoholic coconut water brand Twisted Halo has launched a crowdfunding campaign in a bid to raise £450,000 in return for 14% equity.

The move marks the first crowdfunding attempt by Twisted Halo, which was launched in 2016 by Jess Titcumb as an alternative to the "boring vodka, lime & soda”.

The crowdfunding is the second round of investment for Twisted Halo, which counts Virgin Startup mentor Giles Cooper as an early stage investor.

Investment from the crowdfunding would allow the RTD to launch new flavours and pack formats, and to widen its distribution across the UK, said Titcumb.

“It’s been an incredible journey to date and we want to give our loyal fans a chance to share our future success and be a part of Twisted Halo.”

Positioned as a “healthier’ RTD, the original 4% abv Twisted Halo variant - a gently sparkling blend of coconut water mixed with ginger and premium vodka - contains 90 calories per 275ml and with no added sugars or sweeteners.

Titcumb had succeeded in creating a drink that was "disrupting the market" and which provided “exactly what consumers wanted from alcohol – low calories and less sugar”, said Cooper.

“I am absolutely thrilled to see the brand go from strength to strength and that this unique opportunity will enable members of the public to own a part of Twisted Halo."

Twisted Halo has since launch secured listings with Whole Foods, 31 Dover, Harvey Nichols, Daylesford Organic and Ocado, and is listed in more than 30 pubs and bars across the UK.
