Five wines win funding

The five German wines which have won funding as part of the German Wine Institute's (GWI) marketing initiative were announced at the London International Wine & Spirits Fair. They are: 2000 GB Riesling Sauvage - Georg Breuer; 1999 Franconia - Staatlicher Hofkeller Wrzburg; 2000 Fire Mountain Private Reserve Riesling Classic - ZGM; 2000 Dr Pauly Riesling Classic - Weingut Dr Pauly-Bergweiler; and 2000 Langenbach Dry Riesling - Reh Kendermann. Armin Goring, GWI director said: "This initiative is backed by a strong annual nationwide advertising campaign and extensive retail promotions and consumer sampling programmes. Last year's five winners all gained listings."
