The Kitty Hawk opens wine bar

Published:  22 September, 2017

The Kitty Hawk restaurant in London has opened its own wine bar.

The new venue – The Back Room Wine Bar - is a coffee bar by day but transforms into a wine bar at 5pm from Tuesday to Friday.

With the capacity to host 20 people seated or 80 standing, the new opening offers a weekly changing wine list serving a mix of Old and New World wines sourced from local merchants by The Kitty Hawk's own wine specialist.

Served by the bottle and glass as well as on tap, with customers able to help themselves to the latter, the wine is paid for in the ‘honesty bar’.

Current wines on tap include Tommolo Montepuliciano d’Abbruzzo from Italy, Vino Bianco, Veneto, Italy and Vino Rosé, Luberon, France.

There is a simple menu on offer with cheeses and charcuterie including Kern Cornish and Waterloo, Suffolk salami and Parma ham all served with crackers and sourdough.

The menu also features two small plates that change daily.
