Gosset Champagne unveils new cuvée Blanc de Noirs

Published:  10 October, 2017

Gosset Champagne has released a limited edition cuvée Blanc de Noirs in time for the festive season.

The latest edition, available exclusively from Harvey Nichols now (rrp: £85), is made with 100% Pinot Noir grown in the finest Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards.

Aged in Gosset’s cool cellars for nine years Blanc de Noirs has - like all Gosset Champagnes - a brightness of acidity, because it does not undergo malolactic fermentation, so reinforcing the characteristics of the house style.

Described as “perfectly balanced between intense aromas and finesse”, the wine comes with a lower dosage of 5g/l making it a more food-friendly cuvée, said Gosset cellarmaster, Odilon de Varine.

“I am proud of this limited-edition cuvée, which expresses the finesse and elegance of Pinot Noir, used in our other Gosset wines.”

In addition to the limited release, Gosset has poured its Grand Blanc de Blancs into a clear glass bottle, paying homage to Suzanne Gosset (1885-1970), who led the house following her husband’s death in the 1950s and is claimed to have pioneered the use of clear bottles for Champagne.
