Justerini & Brooks takes on distribution of Swartland producer David & Nadia

Published:  06 February, 2018

Justerini & Brooks has signed a deal as UK distributor for Swartland producer David & Nadia.

The deal, which takes place with immediate effect, will see Justerini & Brooks importing the David & Nadia wine range, which comprises a red and white, and two single varietals: Chenin Blanc and Grenache, with a focus on the on-trade.

Based on the Paardebosch Farm in Malmesbury, husband and wife team David and Nadia Sadie established the winery in 2010 with a long-term plan to invest in, nurture and restore traditional old bush vines from across the Swartland.

Inspired by the clarity of fruit found in the best wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon, Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache all feature as components in the Carignan-dominated “Elpidios” blend, while white varieties include Chenin Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette, Viognier and Sèmillon, varying proportions of which are included in the Chenin-dominated “Aristargos” blend.

The winery’s "philosophy and company ethos" chimed perfectly with Justerini & Brooks, said South Africa buyer, Mark Dearing.

“At a time when South Africa, and the Swartland in particular, is seeing an enormous swell in both quality and diversity, we are thrilled to have struck up a relationship with David & Nadia - a producer whose wines have such clarity and finesse that we fell in love with them straight away, he said, adding the company was looking forward to developing David & Nadia’s presence in the UK market.

The wines will be showcase to the trade for the first time at Justerini & Brooks’ portfolio tasting tomorrow (7th February) at the Royal Society of Chemistry, in London’s West End.
