Read takes over at Villa Maria UK
Villa Maria has announced that Charlotte Read is to be its new European wine manager.
Read steps into the role vacated by Warren Adamson, who left the company after 10 years to head New Zealand's generic body in the UK. Prior to her appointment, Read was working for the Thresher Group.
With eight years of international experience in project management and marketing, Read's responsibilities have ranged from launching new brands of New Zealand milk products in south-east Asia to launching new wine store formats in the UK.
A New Zealander, Read was brought up on a vineyard in Hawkes Bay. She moved to the UK in 2001 to study on the Cambridge University MBA programme, where she focused her business studies on the New Zealand wine industry.
A keen runner, Charlotte will be representing Decanter magazine and Villa Maria in the Mdoc Marathon in Bordeaux on 10 September.
