Casella becomes WSET Silver Corporate Patron

Casella Family Brands (CFB) has signed up as a silver Corporate Patron of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

The Australian family-owned wine company said it had partnered with WSET as part of its strategy to invest in staff development and training.

“A large number of CFB staff have completed WSET courses over the years and benefited greatly from the education,” said MD John Casella.

In addition to the new partnership, CFB has launched a new award for students completing WSET courses, with one “outstanding” student each year for the next three years rewarded a trip to visit Australia’s premier wine regions.

Ian Harris, WSET chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled that CFB recognises the importance of educating their own staff through WSET and is now also working with us to further drive education across the wider industry and reward outstanding candidates.”

The Corporate Patrons programme aims to ensure WSET receives essential funding to allow it to continue to develop its courses and qualifications, as well as maintain and advance its digital learning facilities and online global campus.

In turn, the mutual partnerships position organisations alongside the highly regarded international industry body and help them add value to their own business by maximising the benefits of WSET education and training.
