Bolney and Rathfinny support cycling challenge in aid of The Benevolent

Bolney and Rathfinny have pledged their support for this year’s cycling challenge in aid of The Benevolent.

Both of the English wineries will form part of this year’s cycling challenge - Le Tour d’Estates’, which will again this year see senior drinks industry figures, including Andrew Shaw and Philip Tuck MW, embark on a 103 km route with the aim of raising £20,000 for the trade charity.

After a healthy breakfast provided by Rathfinny, the intrepid peloton will set off at 10am on Sunday 12 August from the wine estate located in the South Downs of Sussex.

The route will take them through the Surrey countryside, including the third-highest point on the South Downs, Ditchling Beacon, before a stopping at Bolney Wine Estates, with the peloton expected to cross the finish line back at Rathfinny Wine Estates at 2pm, where the riders will be treated to a BBQ and post-ride refreshments.

Encouraging fellow cyclists of the trade to take part, Benevolent CEO Chris Porter, said: “It’s a serious ride for serious cyclists looking to raise some serious money for The Benevolent! I’d like to thank our trustees Andrew Shaw and Andrew Hawes, Phil Tuck MW and of course Rathfinny and Bolney Estates for their generous time and help in support for the day and getting ‘Le Tour D’Estates’ up and running.”
