LWF signs up as WSET Corporate Patron

Published:  14 December, 2018

London Wine Fair (LWF) has signed up as a bronze Corporate Patron of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) as part of a new partnership to push education.

The mutual partnership includes WSET becoming the official partner for the Education Zone at the LWF, which offers a full schedule of educational sessions covering everything from wine faults to bar training, with visitors also given the opportunity to sit the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines entrance test free-of-charge.

In addition, as part of the new Corporate Patron partnership, WSET will support LWF staff through WSET qualifications to help deepen their  knowledge and expertise.

Ian Harris, chief executive, WSET, said: “It is these partnerships that allow us to nurture wine and spirits professionals and secure the future of the industry through education, particularly in these uncertain times.”

Hannah Tovey, head of LWF, added: “LWF recognises the incredible importance of education across the whole industry, influencing and improving what the trade are stocking and what consumers are drinking. Better education benefits everyone, and WSET continues to do phenomenal work in driving the standard, so we’re delighted to support them.”

WSET’s Corporate Patron programme helps organisations add value to their business by maximising the benefits WSET education provides, whilst providing essential support to enable WSET to continue to develop its qualifications and maintain its global alumni programme.

It also offers businesses facilitated engagement with WSET’s network of more than 750 Approved Programme Providers worldwide.

The 39th edition of LWF 2019 is scheduled to take place in May, featuring more than 14,000 wines from 32 countries, innovative tastings and  masterclasses.
