Quintessential Brands invests in miniature bottles production line

Published:  10 January, 2019

Quintessential Brands has installed a miniature bottles production line to tap the growing mini market for spirits

The line, which has been installed at the spirit company’s G&J Distillers site in Warrington to the tune of £1 million, produces 5cl bottles and has the capability to produce 200,000 units per week.

In addition to producing miniature bottles of the company’s premium gin brands, including Greenall’s, Bloom, Opihr, Thomas Dakin and Berkeley Square, Quintessential Brands is also bottling its Irish whiskies on the minis line alongside the own-label spirits produced through its commercial products arm.

The investment had been made to enable the business to capitalise on the “buoyant market” for miniature spirits, which was growing ahead of the total spirits category, said Quintessential Brands.

“The miniatures market presents a significant opportunity for the spirits industry with consumers increasingly taking advantage of the affordability of minis to try out new products, said co-founder Warren Scott.

Having formed part of Quintessential Brands Group since 2011, G&J Distillers has over 250 years of heritage, dating back to 1761.

In the past year, it exported more than 30 million bottles of gin.
